What Should Locksmith SEO Cost?

Short answer: a one-truck shop in a small town needs far less than a five-truck shop in Los Angeles. What you are really buying is hours of manual work, and the price tracks how many hours your city takes.

Nobody in this industry likes publishing prices. We understand why — every market is different and a number without context is misleading. But "it depends" is not an answer either, so here is how the pricing actually works.

What you are paying for

SEO is not a product. It is a person doing these things every month:

Add up those hours and you have your price. Anyone charging much less has automated the parts that cannot be automated.

What drives the number up

Population. More people means more competitors and more reviews to catch up on.

How entrenched the top three are. Passing a shop with 40 reviews is a different job than passing one with 900.

How many services and cities you want. Each one is its own page and its own set of keywords.

Whether you are starting from a mess. A suspended listing, a dead website, or wrong phone numbers spread across the web all add cleanup work before anything can move.

The tiers you will see quoted

Under $500 a month. This buys automated directory submissions and a monthly PDF. It is not nothing, but it will not move a competitive city and it is often the same package sold to a hundred businesses.

$750 to $1,500. The realistic range for a single-location locksmith in a small or mid-size market. Real citation work, a few links a month, content, and someone who answers the phone.

$2,000 and up. Competitive metros, multiple locations, or an aggressive push to take the top spot from someone who is defending it.

Those are ranges, not our price list. Tell us your city and we will tell you honestly which one you are in.

The only number that matters

Not impressions. Not clicks. Not a traffic graph going up and to the right.

Cost per call. Take what you spent last month, divide it by the real calls you got, and compare that to what a job is worth to you.

If a job averages $180 and you are paying $40 a call, keep spending. If you are paying $200 a call, something is broken. That single number tells you whether to grow the budget or stop.

Questions to ask before you sign

An agency that answers those five clearly is worth more than one that is $200 cheaper.

Common questions

Is cheap locksmith SEO ever worth it?

Rarely. Under about $500 a month nobody can afford to do manual citation work or real link building, so you get automated directory blasts and a report. That is not the same thing.

Should I pay per lead instead?

Pay-per-lead is fine for ads. For SEO it usually means the agency owns the website and the listing, so if you leave, you leave with nothing. Read who owns what before you sign.

How do I know if it is working?

Cost per call. Take everything you spent last month and divide by the real calls you got. If your agency cannot give you that number, that is your answer.
